If I remember any more I'll be sure to ask. ;-)
I remember reading the second part you mentioned in the book when I 'poked through it', but I couldn't find the part that was in the movie.Melodyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05676306236172688321noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2078726625786581817.post-15690540290548834372011-11-02T06:58:03.757-04:002011-11-02T06:58:03.757-04:00No, no, I wasn't making fun of your list--I ju...No, no, I wasn't making fun of your list--I just thought it was fun that you wanted to beat your friend (who wanted to beat Emma, who wanted to beat Jane Fairfax!)
Amy did ask Arthur to stop calling her Little Dorrit, because she didn't want to be treated as a child (esp. since she was afraid he only saw her as a child and not a woman he could fall in love with). But then, once they were engaged, she asked him to call her Little Dorrit, "never any other name". This wasn't in the movie, though.Amy Dashwoodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08268301980588355778noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2078726625786581817.post-75476721799200942332011-11-01T18:13:58.966-04:002011-11-01T18:13:58.966-04:00Well well, for what do we live but to make sport f...Well well, for what do we live but to make sport for our neighbours? :)

I don't so much mind long books; it's just that I'm a rather slow reader, and there are so many books I still need to read! =)

Oh I had some questions about Little Dorrit book vs. movie but now I can't remember them...oh, except one: Did Amy ever want Arthur to stop calling her 'Little Dorrit' in the book, like she did in the movie?Melodyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05676306236172688321noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2078726625786581817.post-45858743550376141462011-11-01T18:09:02.503-04:002011-11-01T18:09:02.503-04:00Melody,

It's long, but I love long books, so I'm a little biased. :PAmy Dashwoodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08268301980588355778noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2078726625786581817.post-26979225008406536962011-10-31T21:13:04.282-04:002011-10-31T21:13:04.282-04:00Wow, you're quite the reader to have read that...Wow, you're quite the reader to have read that very large book! ;-) I got it from the library once to 'poke through it' as I often do after seeing the movie. It was no wonder the mini-series was so long! It was a great story though, maybe I'll read the book someday.

I have a long list of books to read, and I think Little Dorrit is on there somewhere... when I was challenged by a friend, I made up a list of 103 titles, one more book than hers she was working on of 102, which was more than Emma (from the 2009 mini-series) with 101, who wanted to beat Jane Fairfax with 100! *phew*

Since I visited your blog I thought I'd leave a comment. =)

~Melody
http://regencydelight-janeaustenetc.blogspot.comMelodyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05676306236172688321noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2078726625786581817.post-74404194618725491952010-10-18T18:56:15.079-04:002010-10-18T18:56:15.079-04:00The movie get THIRTEEN points out of ten. :)The movie get THIRTEEN points out of ten. :)Amy Dashwoodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08268301980588355778noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2078726625786581817.post-16673660976898829912010-10-16T18:14:01.702-04:002010-10-16T18:14:01.702-04:0010 points out ten at least the movie anyway10 points out ten at least the movie anywayAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
